Josie Bones will be closed for lunch Saturday 10 March for our Melbourne Food and Wine Festival event Smoke, Fire and Beer.

We shall re-open for business as usual at 6:00pm.


Closed for Adventurous Dining

Josie Bones will be closed on Wednesday 7 March for our Melbourne Food and Wine Festival event Adventurous Dining.

We will open again as usual on Thursday evening.


Holiday Opening Hours

Josie Bones will closed from Saturday 24 December.

Don’t fret, we’ll be back on Thursday 5 January, opening as usual from 5:00pm.

Build a Better Beer List

Are you interested in building a better beer list for your restaurant? Or are you just interested in learning more about the art of beer and food matching? We have just the event for you.

Our intrepid Beer Guy James, in conjunction with VAMI and the Fed Square Microbreweries Showcase, will take you through a tasting of eight local microbrewed beers, discussing the details of each as well as suggested food pairings.

This Thursday 20th October from 3pm – 4:30pm, at BMW Edge, Federation Square, Melbourne.

Each participant will also receive a complimentary pass to the Microbreweries Showcase that evening.

Josie Bones has been awarded Australia’s Best Specialty Beer Venue in the Bartender Magazine Bar Awards for 2011. The competition was fierce so we were incredibly excited to win, especially considering we’re still in our infancy. We’d like to thank our fabulous team, particularly our tireless ‘Beer Guy’ James, for being as mad about beer as we are, and for all our customers for putting up with and going along with said madness.

We aim to give you a complete beer and food experience, from a range of ever-changing seasonal beers on tap and our large range of local and international bottled beer, to the matched food which will be seasonal, local, entire beast focused, cooked with beer where appropriate and tailor made for eating at our bar.

Josie Bones will hold beer and food matching events, beer tastings, brewer nights and regular beery feasts.
